In Naturtejo Geopark you may find some of our past joining a travel going back millions of years.
“Dinosaurs invade the Geopark” is the biggest travelling exhibition of dinosaurs for the first time in Portugal that will be open in Castelo Branco. With a strong fantasy impact for younger and grownups, the Dino Expo is constituted by enormous complete skeletons, flesh models and skulls of dinosaurs, birds and flying reptiles enabling the visitor to travel from the dream to reality.
Walking by the Fossils Trail, in Penha Garcia, you will meet the Ichnological Park geosites, a truly classroom for nature, where is possible to find endless remains of well preserved trilobite traces of life, living fossils, a rocky Templar castle and old watermills.
Through a virtual and interactive journey you may have the opportunity to appreciate the landscapes from Tejo Internacional in the Interpretive Centre of Castelo Branco. At the end you will find the last remains of the European tropical forest from 10 million years ago…
